The primary mission of UCSB’s Office of Technology & Industry Alliances (TIA) is to build the foundation for long-term, productive and mutually beneficial relationships between UCSB and its industry collaborators.

UCSB’s Tech Transfer office manages intellectual property developed at UCSB to develop relationships and agreements with industry partners, including research collaborations and material transfer agreements. TIA was one of the first university technology transfer offices to have full authority to negotiate and execute both licensing and research agreements.

At TIA, I am the technology marketing intern, where I am involved in the entire process of intaking an invention to managing B2B campaigns. Some of my duties include turning technical descriptions of novel inventions into value propositions, designing the new website (to be launched Fall 2021), email campaigns, and developing marketing material. Additionally, I assist with the UCSB Innovation + Entrepreneurship Center via unique blog posts.
