UCSB Invention Disclosures

LocationSanta Barbara, CA
SectorEntrepreneurship, Content Creation

In my role at UCSB TIA, I have the opportunity to work with world-class researchers to market their inventions to industry partners.

When receiving an invention disclosure, our team determines if it is commercially viable and proceeds with filing a patent. After this initial process is complete, I am tasked with translating patents, research papers, and other extraneous documents into a non-confidential disclosure (NCD). An NCD is used as a marketing tool to be able to present the invention as a commercially advantageous investment from a firm. These documents provide as much non-sensitive material to potential partners on our website, newsletter, conferences, and invention campaigns.
