From November 2020 to May 2021, I participated in the UC Santa Barbara New Venture Competition. I joined a team of PhD students looking to create a more efficient, cheap water filter. After months of market research and validation, we designed a more efficient filtration system for drinking water, designed to remove contaminants that impact the taste and health of water. Our system uses SMART technology to provide the user a unique drinking water experience.
Our team competed in the NVC Finals and placed fourth among the original 32 teams from the NVC fair. After this experience, I became an Indiegogo Summer Fellow to learn about crowdfunding.
